Friday Aug 14, 2020
Friday Aug 14, 2020
Ep 64 - Here comes Fall. Maybe there will be sports, maybe there will be further closures, maybe there will be an economic collapse and a Civil War after November 3rd - we have no idea. Though, I hope the civil unrest remains calm and nonviolent. In fact, here's too friendly, civil discourse over ugly, uncivil fighting any day.
The topic for today is as the title states - five ways to get your mindset shift on for the Fall semester. Regardless of sports, or further shutdowns - we do know the school year is upon us and it's time to get ready.
You decided to take classes this fall so don't go off and look for excuses as to why you didn't do as well as you would have liked.
Make it happen, you owe it to yourself first and foremost. Use these tips to catapult yourself to the best semester yet and prove to yourself that you embody the seven powerful principles I wrote about in my book.

Planning is priceless, plans are worthless
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Thursday Aug 06, 2020
Yes, this semester is going to be unlike any other - like all semesters really. This one just has the cloud of a worldwide pandemic hovering over it, ready to unleash its gale-force winds and torrential downpours upon us all.
This episode will cover many things you should be thinking about and doing as any semester gets started really BUT...with the uncertainty that this coming Fall 2020 seems to be ramping up toward, I think it even more important to...
Get into the mental and physical health system asap. Connect with the resources that are present on the campus to aid your academia and personal growth. Think ahead, plan for the unexpected, and then be flexible when all heck breaks loose sometime around Halloween.
Jump on in, the water is fine. Sure, the current is a son-of-a-gun but we're all in this together.

What do you want to achieve this semester?
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
Ep #62 - You want to get amazing grades this Fall semester regardless of the pandemic. It is totally understandable to feel overwhelmed with everything that has happened this year. It is okay to be worried about what will happen once this semester gets into winter. At some point, you might even question whether the college admins really care about your safety, or are they just putting PPEs in place to make sure they are covered on the legal side. At the top of all of this is the novel-coronavirus, Damn that Covid-19 all to hell because it is laying waste to the world as we've known it.
Here's the kicker, whatever you decide to do this semester, go all-in on that decision, and kick-ass!
Just make sure it's your decision, and you are content with it, because it is you who has to put in the effort this semester - not your family, friends, and advisors.

Friday Jul 24, 2020
Ep #61 - in this week's episode, we discuss chapter seven in my book, "College Success Habits: 7 Powerful Principles to Help You Excel in College and Beyond," - Embody Tenaciousness.
Showing up as the best version of yourself every day is going to be the secret sauce that brings all of these powerful principles to fruition and guides you to the best version of yourself.
There is nothing that will weigh you down more than a lackadaisical attitude in your day-to-day life.
You are in control of your actions, just like you are in control of your thoughts and feelings. The act of showing up as the best version of you will show those you interact with that you are taking your college experience seriously.
Celebrate your successes responsibly.

Ep #60 - in this week's episode, we discuss chapter six in my book, "College Success Habits: 7 Powerful Principles to Help You Excel in College and Beyond," - Exercise Flexibility.
Planning is priceless. Plans are worthless. Being tied to your plan will leave you rigid when you need to be flexible. In the history of time, the likelihood that any plan has ever played out precisely as it was originally laid out - well, that would be a statistical anomaly.
Everyone has a plan until they are punched in the mouth - Muhammed Ali.

Take Action

Saturday Jul 11, 2020
Ep #58 - in this week's episode we discuss chapter four in my book, "College Success Habits: 7 Powerful Principles to Help You Excel in College and Beyond," - Take Action.
Thoughts and ideas are just the start of the journey, wait, are they even a part of the journey? Everyone has about 50,000 thoughts a day - give or take 5,000. With that many thoughts, how many of them are viable ideas about what you can do with your day, week, month, year, life, etc?
In reality, with so many thoughts and ideas bouncing around in our collective heads, every invention has already been dreamed up - and yet we still are creating new things every day.
Why?
Because anyone can have an idea. Anyone can say, "I wonder if I/We could..." But how many people take that idea and then put their actions where their head is?
You do. That's who. YOU.

Ep #57 - in this week's episode we discuss chapter three in my book, "College Success Habits: 7 Powerful Principles to Help You Excel in College and Beyond," - Be Decisive.
Getting yourself stuck in indecision isn't a state of doing its a state of procrastination. If you are tied up in knots over the easy decisions like coffee flavor, dinner options on the menu, or what movie to watch - imagine how difficult the massive decisions will be to make!
