Beliefs of Possibility
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
Ep #84 - What do you think is possible? What do you think is impossible? Where in your life are you allowing limiting beliefs around possibility to hold you back from experiencing and achieving things beyond what you have previously experienced and achieved?
There are voices in your head. These voices are not always yours, in fact, I'd say an unscientific percentage, let's say 99.9999% of these voices are not yours. They are your parents, friends, family, preacher, teacher, media, and society as a whole all up in your head telling you what they think you are capable of accomplishing. Listening to them is to your detriment. They are likely projecting their limiting beliefs of possibility upon you because in some weird way they want to keep you safe from disappointment.
Here's the oddest thing about that. By limiting yourself you are most definitely holding yourself back for experiencing the best case scenario and that, to me, is the worst case scenario.
Believe in yourself. No one else can ever support you the way you can support yourself. Inside your head, where like 83% of our conversations occur - that voice is the one you allow to hold you back before you have even started.

Don't over complicate it
Wednesday Jan 20, 2021
Wednesday Jan 20, 2021
Ep #81 - If you are waiting for all the lights on your route to be green at the same time you will never leave your driveway. Planning is priceless and plans are worthless. When you ever complicate something with the idea that you can pre-plan for ALL the possible issues that may arise you are buffering and procrastinating.
Step into ACTION mode and release the notion that anything you do will ever be perfect. First off, perfection is subjective. What one person thinks of as perfect is another person's so-so.
When you find yourself over complicating something be mindful where your negative emotions are running the show. Ask yourself why is this emotion here. What can you learn from this emotion? How can you use this emotion, that is fueling the act of over complication, to your advantage.
Fear is a son-of-a-gun. Use it to spark your internal motivation and discipline will be waiting to take over when the nitros boost that is fear and willpower wear off.

The Mindset for Change
Monday Jan 04, 2021
Monday Jan 04, 2021
Ep 80 - Change is inevitable. Being in charge of your change - that is not. When you or I seek to guide our change we often go out and get a book that will show us the way, or hit play on an audiobook or podcast. The first step to take toward the change we seek is shifting our mindset. If you have ever heard or read about a new, great strategy and sorta shrugged it off even though you approached that resource expecting an answer or solution you need look no further than your mindset for why you snubbed the advice or suggestion.
Mindset is not fixed. It is fluid, ever changing. Having it set right one minute and straying off the next isn't something you need worry about fixing - it's part of the human condition. Knowing that, being prepared for this to occur, and having a plan in place for how you can right your mental mindset ship will do wonders for your longterm success.

You Create Your World, Take Action Now
Friday Jan 01, 2021
Friday Jan 01, 2021
Ep 79 - It's a New Year. A New You doesn't come free with your admission into 2021. There will be action that must be taken. Any action, with a plan behind it, is better than THE BEST plan with delayed action - or no action at all.
The world didn't stop because of Covid-19 or the election or social issues - I am super over hearing people use the year that was 2020 as their excuse for why they left so many goals on the board. You control your thoughts, feelings, and actions. You control YOU. No longer will, "I couldn't get that done because 2020 was so screwy," be accepted as an excuse. It wasn't acceptable back in 2020 - it's certainly not allowable now.
Step up - take your shot. No one ever accomplished their best life by sitting on the sideline bitching about their playing time. Work so hard, be so determined, that no one can justify you not being the starter in your own life. Ask yourself, "Am I the star in my own movie? In my own life?"
The answer better be yes, or it's time to start making some serious freaking changes!

Ep #78 - Slowing down is something many of us have challenges settling into. Our society gives badges of honor to those that burn the candle at both ends and push the pedal to the metal. There is a time and a place to push it hard. There is also a time and a place to back off and set a more nonchalant, relaxed pace. This episode is all about the ways we can recognize in ourselves the potential for future burnout and the five simple steps to flow into a more relaxed you.

Knowing then what I know now
Tuesday Dec 15, 2020
Tuesday Dec 15, 2020
Ep #77 - Reaching back into my memories from my college years, which isn't as far back as you'd think, I realize that there are certainly many, many, many things that I would have liked to have known then that I know now.
This isn't one of those episodes where I tell you to do as I say and not as I do. I merely am taking this episode to think back to the mistakes I made in my teens and 20s. that I am pretty sure I would not make today - and bringing those to you. I want you to have the opportunity to grow your self-awareness by taking inventory of my top-10 list and seeing where you fall on this list.
This will be a fun exercise for you to gain some insight into yourself as the New Year gets ever closer!

Delete, Distort, Generalize
Tuesday Dec 08, 2020
Tuesday Dec 08, 2020
Ep #77 - How we experience the world is all based on our perceptions of the world around us and these perceptions are passed through our five senses, then through our opinions, beliefs, values, experiences, and memories filters, and lastly they're then sent through our delete, distort, generalize filters.
The external world, our five senses, our personalized filters, and the universal filters all work in tandem to create the world we live in - which is literally just the world we have created for ourselves inside our own heads playing out in real time, in the "real world."
These pictures, clips, and mini-movies become everything we see in our mind's eyes and those create our thoughts, which trigger our feelings, which alter our physiology (our body language,) and all that adds up to our actions and results.
If all of that doesn't spark you to hit play then I am at a loss for what will! :)

Six questions you should know the answers too
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Ep 76 - What are you pursuing in your academia? What are you hearing in your head as you make the decisions you do? What does your present look like and how do you see your future playing out based off who you are listening to and the energy you are putting out.
Know the answers to these six questions will allow you to check your heading and provide you with a fountain of wealth as you strive for deeper self-awareness.
What would you pursue:
1. If I didn't want money
2. If I didn't want to make a name for yourself?
3. If I didn't care what other people think?
Now, with the answers from above, how would you answer these questions if the above led you to the life you desire?
Imagine the life above at perfection …
o Where are you?
o Who are with?
o What are you doing?”
When you know the answers to these six questions you will attain a level of self-awareness that will open you up to the personal growth and development that most don't even attempt to achieve let alone make into their reality.

Controlling your future through your mindset
Wednesday Nov 25, 2020
Wednesday Nov 25, 2020
Ep #75 - Hypotheticals can run you ragged. Your mindset about the future is as important as how you analyze and move through the things that have happened to you in your past. If you start spiraling down a path of "well this could," or "this might," or "well, that's what happened last time," you will be running on a treadmill to no where.
White knuckling the steering wheel deathly afraid of a tire blowout is just gonna ruin your road trip. Prepare as much as possible then release the rest to the energy of "what will be will be."
I talk a lot about and push you all to accept responsibility for your actions because that is where true power over one's journey is decided BUT there are many things that are not directly in your control. These are the things that will spin your mind off the proverbial cliff if you let them.
Developing your growth mindset isn't the first principle for no reason.
