Ep #29 - In this weeks episode we discuss prepping for the finals and end of term exams.
It is imperative you take the time to really understand the workload & flow:
- accomplishing things with higher efficiency when you have an outline, schedule, and workflow chart
**Pomodoro Technique**
- how do you want to study?
- small chunks, medium chunks, long chunks
- super huge chunks will kill the drive to keep going and halt memory absorption of the material
Understand the parameters of the work needing to get done so you have an idea of how to break it up and schedule it.
- Create your own study guide.
- Attend the review session.
- Create a study schedule - and follow it. (gym time story
- Get creative with study aids. (Read aloud, record yourself explaining it to yourself, flashcards, note cards, etc)
- Prioritize your study time.
- Remove all distractions and avoid multitasking.
Study for the style of the exam.
- Multiple-choice: know definitions and concepts.
- Essay exams: focus on understanding the concepts presented and have examples to use.)
Pace yourself.
- Make sure you stay focused and don’t burn yourself out. Stay away from the dreaded all-nighter through pacing. You can easily do this by starting early, creating a study schedule, and taking breaks frequently.
Teach classmates.
- Learning by teaching is a method that really works! If you work with a study buddy or group and explain concepts to each another, you're re-learning the material all over again. It's a great way to reinforce what you've learned.
I love this method and use it in my podcasts and Facebook and Instagram lives.
Brain food is real.
- Eat healthily and drink plenty of water to keep your brain firing on all cylinders.
